I’m set on a 2014/15 CTS V-Sport Premium, 2015 Genesis Sedan 5.0 Ultimate, or 2012 Jaguar XJL Supersport. I have an extensive list of pros and cons but what are your thoughts? It’s for sure one of these three cars replacing the Amanti in 2019. I know, seems weird to be looking this far ahead but it takes me about 18 months to prepare for a car purchase.

V-Sport all day long, no question. The Jag is great, but its reliability isn’t.

I’d go for the Jag, with the Hyundai in second place.

My order would be

1. Caddy - if you can get it in that amazing plum purple.

2. Genesis - 10 year warranty

3. Jag - any warranty options available?

I feel the same way. Hop on that depreciation curve and don’t look back.

Note 10 year warranty only applies to original owner. Subsequent owners moves to a 5/60 I believe, still not bad.

LWB Supersports. CUE is a fucking hemorrhoid and I’m not super confident in the TTV6 after GM’s previous attempts at turbocharging. The Genesis is cool, but it isn’t quite on this level. An awesome alternative to a Q50 or 340i, but not quite V-sport pace or XJ luxury and ride quality. The XJL Supersports is super comfy, has one hell of an engine, makes a good noise, and it shrinks around you when the going gets twisty, so much so that you’d swear you were driving something the size of an E60 5-series.

Is that a Jaaag?

Yes, but it’s the long wheel base.

So what does that-

JAAAAAAAAAAAAAG

I love all three, but in this case it has to be the Jaaaag, unless long-term quality and reliability/cost of ownership are a concern.

I’ve driven all three cars on your list and the CTS V-Sport was the most impressive to me. It manages to handle exceptionally well. It definitely gets my pick as far as driving dynamics are concerned.

Jaguar is the quickest in a straight line and probably has more presence. But I don’t trust them as far as reliability is concerned.

The Hyundai isn’t bad, but I didn’t not like how it handled at all. The brakes didn’t feel linear either and it was off-putting.

Drive all three as back to back as possible and then decide. Best advice I can give
